Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), particularly known under the trade name ‘teflon’, is a milky-white thermoplastic material. In particular, PTFE is most often used in sealing technology. Owing to its special properties, this plastic material is very popular among our customers.

Solvents or other abrasive chemicals do not damage PTFE and it is, therefore, often used as a coating material where these chemicals are present. The surface of PTFE is extremely smooth and lubricious, so nothing sticks to it.

The material neither changes its volume nor weathers under the influence of moisture and UV radiation. Polytetrafluoroethylene is also extremely temperature-resistant, resistant to cold to -200°C and has long term resistance to heat up to +260°C. PTFE is used by our customers in a multitude of fields.
